Head of Development (m/f/d)
As an experienced senior full-stack developer, you bring extensive software development expertise. You are proficient in both front-end and back-end operations and are passionate about implementing new features and services. Working with teams, you will contribute to the design and implementation of challenging projects. From requirements analysis to deployed, high-quality code, you play a pivotal role.
Responsibilities
- Guide client projects end-to-end from initial consultation and precise time/cost estimation to post-launch support by designing clear technical concepts, collaborating closely with all stakeholders, and presenting solutions that exceed expectations.
- Select, integrate, and optimize industry-standard software components to drive the delivery of robust technical solutions that perfectly balance cutting-edge innovation with operational reliability.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence by mentoring and upskilling the development team while establishing rigorous quality assurance practices to guarantee top-tier code standards.
- Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure, making swift, well-informed decisions to ensure uninterrupted system performance, stability, and operational efficiency.
- Promote a seamless DevOps culture that bridges development and operations by leveraging foundational knowledge of modern hosting and deployment platforms like AWS, Docker, Terraform, and GitLab CI.
- Proactively research and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously optimize internal processes and strategically integrate relevant innovations into the company's tech stack, keeping the business highly competitive.
- Identify potential technical risks at an early stage and develop proactive, structured mitigation strategies to prevent project disruptions.
- Inspire and scale a growing engineering team by managing everything from recruitment and onboarding to ongoing professional development, all while nurturing a positive, collaborative environment where team members can thrive.
Qualifications
- A degree in computer science or a comparable qualification.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in an IT-related field, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of PHP, JavaScript, React, Next, Vue, Laravel, WordPress, Shopware, Symfony, React Native, and testing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with agile methodologies and project management practices.
- A talent for creative problem-solving, a passion for innovation, and the ability to lead and motivate technical teams.
